Community Cleanup

Partnering with local volunteers and organizations, we have organized efforts to perform general rubbish removal at specific locations throughout the city.

In addition, our Public Engagement Officer has been actively connecting with our community in order to ensure the health and safety of our community. Our team will continue to work closely with residents and businesses to address safety and code related matters, always aiming for timely and constructive solutions that work for everyone.

April 2026: Free Portola Community Chipping Day

Sponsored by the City of Portola, Plumas County Fire Safe Council, and the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District, free chipping services were provided to the community on Saturday 04/25/2026. In preparation for the event, the United States Forest Service Beckwourth Ranger District cleared their land alongside the Riverwalk.

We're committed to safeguarding our beautiful land against the threat of wildfire and happy to have been able to offer this event at no cost to the public.

Every little bit helps!
